Scholarships

Scholarships have been part of our effort since the first church teams went to Georgia in 2004, as individuals on the trip committed to sponsor individual children from the Etseri Orphanage, in Samtredia, to attend trade schools in the area. Upon their return they began recruiting others to sponsor children.

The first group of three students, Tomriko, Theona and Nino, graduated in the spring and summer of 2007, and you can meet them  here.

The second group, in their second and third years of school, are Katia, Bachuki and Natia, and you can meet them here.

2007's new students are Nino, Mary and Salome, and you can meet them here.

On-site Vocational Ed

Scholarships remain the major thrust of our efforts in Georgia, although a program to provide physical facilites for a vocational education program in two Kutaisi institutions was successful. These were a farm and a barber training room at the Rioni School for the deaf, and a wood working class at the Samtredia Special School for Boys. Learn about them here.
